Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. This app does not collect, transmit or share any personal data — including name, email, phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers, advertising IDs or usage analytics.

The app declares a single permission: internet access (INTERNET), used only to download the app's own program files and icons. It requests no runtime permissions — no camera, microphone, location, contacts, notifications or file access. You can check this yourself in the Permissions section of its Google Play listing.

Where your content lives

Everything you create — worlds, characters, relationships, custom fields, tags, notes, timelines, mind maps, inserted images and sketches — is stored in local storage (localStorage) private to this app. It is not shared with Chrome or any other browser on your device, and no other app can read it.

Separately, the app caches its own program files and icons (Cache Storage) so it works offline. That cache contains none of your content.

• This data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any server
• The developer cannot read, restore or delete it

How to delete your data

Uninstalling the app, or choosing "Clear app data" in system settings, immediately and permanently deletes all of your content — this cannot be undone. The system may also reclaim and delete this data automatically, without warning, if your device runs low on storage.

Please use the in-app "Export backup" regularly. Exported files are yours to keep and move; we never handle them.

Network use

Most of the app works offline. Each time you open it, if your device has a network connection, the app checks our website for a newer version of its own program files and icons; if it can't connect at that moment, it simply uses the version already cached, with no effect on offline use. This process only ever touches the app's own program files — none of your content is used or uploaded.

As with any website, your IP address and browser information are visible to the hosting provider, Netlify (United States), and may appear briefly in its server logs.

• Data controller: LazJ (the developer of this app, based in the Hong Kong SAR); see Contact below.
• Purpose and legal basis: service delivery and security, on the basis of legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Retention: held briefly by Netlify under its own policy. We do not download, aggregate or analyse these logs.
• International transfers: Netlify is a US provider; transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses it operates under.
• Your rights: for those hosting logs you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or object to processing — contact us by email. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Third parties

The current version integrates no ad networks, analytics tools, tracking SDKs or social logins.

The Android build uses the system's built-in WebView component (part of the Android OS) to render the web content, in storage private to this app — not shared with Chrome or any other browser on your device.

Children

This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app collects no data at all, and therefore collects none from children either.

Sharing and selling

We hold no user data, so there is nothing to share, sell or transfer.

Your rights

Your data is entirely under your control. At any time, in the app, you can view, edit or delete any entry, export everything to a JSON file, or delete a whole world. Because your content is not held by us, no request to us is needed or possible for it. For the hosting logs described above, contact us by email.

Advertising in future versions

The app is not promised to be free forever, and a future version may carry advertising to cover running costs. Until then this section is advance notice only — no advertising SDK is bundled in the app today.

If advertising is introduced, we commit to the following:

• this page and the Terms of Use will be updated, and the app will say so clearly, before any ad-supported version ships;
• the "Contains ads" label and the Data safety declaration on Google Play will be updated to match;
• your notes (worlds, characters, relationships, notes, images) will never be read, uploaded or used for ad targeting or measurement — the ad component stays isolated from your local data;
• ad providers may then process the Android Advertising ID, coarse region, device and network information for delivery and billing, under their own privacy policies; we will name those providers here and link to their policies;
• we will explain how to turn off personalised ads (Android's system "Ads" settings let you reset or delete the advertising ID), and obtain consent where GDPR/ePrivacy or similar rules require it;
• no personalised advertising will be served to users under 13.

If you do not accept an ad-supported version, you may decline the update or stop using the app — export your backup first.

Changes

If a future version adds a feature that processes data (advertising, paid features or cloud sync, for example), this page will be updated and the app will say so clearly beforehand. Non-essential processing will always be optional.

Applicable law

This policy is made under the Hong Kong SAR Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with its own data-protection rules, the relevant provisions above (controller details, legal basis and your rights, set out under "Network use") apply to you as well.
